Author: Jay Crownover
Genre: New Adult
Publication Date: January 7, 2014
Publisher: William Morrow an imprint of HarperCollins Publishing
Event organized by: Literati Author Services, Inc.
Cora Lewis is a whole lot of fun, and she knows how to keep her tattooed bad boy friends in line. But all that flash and sass hide the fact that she’s never gotten over the way her first love broke her heart. Now she has a plan to make sure that never happens again: She’s only going to fall in love with someone perfect.
Rome Archer is as far from perfect as a man can be. He’s stubborn and rigid, he’s bossy and has come back from his final tour of duty fundamentally broken. Rome’s used to filling a role: big brother, doting son, super soldier; and now none of these fit anymore. Now he’s just a man trying to figure out what to do with the rest of his life while keeping the demons of war and loss at bay. He would have been glad to suffer it alone, until Cora comes sweeping into his life and becomes the only color on his bleak horizon.
Perfect isn’t in the cards for these two, but imperfect might just last forever . . .

{Review}
"It's my favorite thing ever to have all the people I love in one place at the same time." Cora, The Fourth of July (page 1, line 1)
I loved Rome in Rule. He totally stole my heart. But when we see him again in his story, on the Fourth of July he's now angry, lost, drifting, still hurt over his brother Remy's secret, dealing with scars of war.

Seeing inside his head, getting to really know him, I love him even more. He's a protector, a defender of family and freedom, he's the guy who will do what it takes to make things right. And the things he says...
"Please, Cora." His voice was husky and so sad. "You are so much better for me than a bottle of vodka every night. I can't be perfect for you, but I can be someone you rely on, someone you want to keep around even though it isn't always going to be easy." (location 2463)
Cora has been hurt. Badly. Determined not to be hurt again she's on the hunt for Mr. Perfect. Instead she finds herself attracted, puzzled and intrigued by 'Captain No-Fun', otherwise known as Rome. I felt for her as she struggled and struggled some more, to trust, to believe, to accept that there is no Mr. Perfect but that there might just be a Mr. Perfect For Her.

I loved everything about this book, the romance and drama of two imperfectly perfect people falling in love, an exciting storyline and the secondary characters - those who've already had their stories told and those yet to come. Although Rome is book three in the Marked Men series it can definitely be read as a standalone though I bet you'll be running out to buy Rule, Jet and pre-ordering Nash (April? Seriously? After that ending I have to wait until April?). Now, go read Rome, I bet you'll fall in love with him too.

About the Author
I’m supposed to share interesting details about myself so that my readers get to know me so here we go in no particular order: I’m an natural redhead even though I haven’t seen my real hair color in years, I’m a big fan of tattoos and have a half sleeve on either arm and various other pieces all over the place, I’ve been in the bar industry since I was in college and it has always offered interesting insight into how men and women interact with each other, I have 3 dogs that are all crazy, I live in Colorado and love the snow, I love music and in all reality wish I could be a rock star not a writer or a bartender but I have zero talent so there is that. I love to write, love to read and all I’m interested in is a good story with interesting characters that make the reader feel something.
