{Rating} 4/5 -- I really liked it!

{Review} Yes, you read that heading right, this is a paranormal, historical romance and it is utterly charming. I loved Ashley (the Duke) and Sophia, they were both such interesting characters, both strong and stubborn, I couldn't wait to get to their next scene together.

Unlike many romance novels that have something trite like a misunderstanding to cause turmoil in relationships, the stumbling block Falkner devised to keep Sophia and Ashley apart was more like a brick wall, reinforced with metal and electrified. It was gut wrenching, I couldn't see the way to their happy ending.

There is a large cast of secondary characters but they are so unique that they never blended together. I'm excited to read books two and three in the Faerie series where we get to see several of those characters again. I loved Falkner's writing style, she excelled at snappy dialog and chemistry between her characters.
